Learning can be fun? Who
would have thought? Learning doesn't have to revolve around mundane
reading and pointless testing. As the text states, learning to take
test does not result in meaningful learning. We have all been in
classes where it has been nothing more than a snooze-fest. We enter the
room ,and leave the room, not really sure what we just learned. You
think to yourself, "wow, that was really boring." So, why not use a
more hands on approach that engages the students in an exciting way of
learning. As educators, we have so many beneficial tools
and technologies that can prove to make us more effective. The text
states meaningful learning brilliantly as being active, intentional,
constructive, cooperative, and authentic. I believe that when
purposeful, thought provoking, activities are integrated into
the material it acts as a catalyst to propel the learner into greater
depths of retaining was has been taught.
